June 10-13 Reminders
With this time of year being so busy, I thought I would send out a weekly reminder.
For the week of June 10-13, please remember to:
Return all library books by June 13th. You can return them to the playschool or at the Carstairs Public Library.
Please send in $5 for your child to partake in the Father's Day surprise. This adventure will take place on June 12 & 13.
Carstairs Playschool Society is still accepting registrations for Summer Camp that will take place July 22-26. Visit www.carstairsplayschool.net to register.
June Newsletter
Wow, it is so hard to believe the year is almost over!! I just wanted to let you know a couple of things before we wrap up.
Themes
In June we celebrate Father’s Day and we have something special planned! Summer will be the second theme for the month, and we hope to spend more time outside to enjoy it!
Library Books
Miss Marg has one more week in June where she will be coming to read to the 4 year old classes. The children will not be bringing books home at this time, as this will be the last library visit of the year. There are several families who have not returned their library books over the year. Please ensure that all books are returned by June 13, 2019. Books can be returned to the playschool or you can return them directly to the Carstairs Public Library.
Father’s Day
Just like for Mother’s Day, we wanted to celebrate the male role models in the children’s lives. The Carstairs Playschool has arranged for another little adventure in town for the children to go on. Once they have walked to their destination, they will be creating something sweet and special. The playschool asked that parents contribute $5 per child to help cover this expense. Dates and times for this adventure are still being finalized, but if you could please drop funds off or email transfer to carstairsplayschool@gmail.com by June 10th, we could greatly appreciate it.

4 Year Old Graduation
The 4 year olds will be having a small graduation ceremony at the end of each of their classes. The Monday/Wednesday class will be graduating on Monday, June 17th, and the Tuesday/Thursday classes will be graduating on Tuesday, June 18th. Parents are more than welcome to attend, but I am asking that you please come at the end of the class. Each graduation will be held during the last hour of class so parents can come at 10:30, if they are in the morning class, or 2:30 for afternoon classes. We thought this would give us a little more time for pictures. For those parents who have children to pick up at the Carstairs Elementary School, and who are attending the afternoon graduation, there will be lots of time for you to pick up your other children as the actual graduation presentation will be finished by 3:00.
The children will be singing a couple of songs, and Michelle and I will be presenting them with a diploma as well. We know these guys are ready to move on to kindergarten, but it will still be a sad day for us!
Year End Parties
This year, each class will be having their own separate year-end party at the Carstairs Playschool. We are planning on having several different stations set up in the gym for the children to rotate to every 15 minutes. There will be painting, dirt, and other fun activities, so please DRESS FOR A MESS!! Parents are welcome to join for the last half hour for games and play. Please send your child with a regular snack on this day.

· Monday/Wednesday 4 year old class - Wednesday, June 19th from 1:00 – 3:00

· Tuesday/Thursday afternoon class - Thursday, June 20th from 1:00 – 3:00

Fall Fundraiser
For those of you who will be returning in the fall, we would like you to know that we will be kicking off the Davison Apple Orchard fundraiser the first week back to school. The reason we have opted to hold the fundraiser right away is due to more apple variety choices available earlier in the fall season. These apples are delicious!
Lastly, I would like to shout out a huge thank you to all the board members, parents, and children of the Carstairs Playschool Society. Thank you for all your help and support throughout the year. For those of you who will be moving on, I wish you and your families all the best. For those of you who will be returning, I am really looking forward to teaching your children again.
I love working at the Carstairs Playschool! I love the kids, and I love being their teacher. I am excited to come back and do it all again in the fall!
