Bathroom Policy

The Carstairs Playschool Society has a strict policy where all students MUST be fully toilet trained.  Children are not permitted to attend in diapers or pull ups.  In the event of a urine accident, staff will assist the child in changing into dry clothing.  If a child has a bowel movement accident, parents will be required to come directly to the playschool and clean/change their child.  This policy stems from the playschool not having the necessary sterilization equipment and change table ELCC regulations require.  The only exception to this is if a child has a medical reason prohibiting them from being potty trained.

In the event of recurring accidents, staff will discuss with the parents, start documenting frequency and notify the Board of Directors.  The board will monitor the situation, but if there is no improvement, the board may ask the family to withdraw from the program.
